# UK Power Grid > Live, plain-English data on Great Britain's electricity system: what is generating, how much is being used, what it costs, how clean it is, and whether the grid is in balance. Figures update every few minutes from Elexon BMRS and the NESO Carbon Intensity API. Every page is server-rendered HTML and opens with a dated sentence stating its current figures. Each chart has a "View as table" twin containing the same figures as text, and each page ends with a short explainer of what the numbers mean and why they move. All times are shown in UK local time (Europe/London). ## Pages - [Generation](https://api.ukgrid.info): the current generation mix by fuel type, the largest source right now, renewable and low-carbon share, and how the mix moved over the last 24 hours. Includes embedded solar and wind. - [Demand](https://api.ukgrid.info/demand): national demand met by the transmission system, published every five minutes, with a comparison to the same time yesterday and the current temperature. - [Interconnectors](https://api.ukgrid.info/interconnectors): imports and exports across each subsea cable linking GB to France, the Netherlands, Belgium, Norway, Denmark, Ireland and Northern Ireland. - [Prices](https://api.ukgrid.info/prices): wholesale market prices per half-hour settlement period, in pounds per megawatt-hour, set against the Octopus Agile household tariff for a chosen region. - [Carbon intensity](https://api.ukgrid.info/carbon-intensity): grams of CO2 per kilowatt-hour for electricity consumed in GB right now, the trend today and the forecast ahead. - [Renewables](https://api.ukgrid.info/renewables): wind output against its forecast, and curtailment, meaning wind that could have been generated but was paid to stop because the network could not carry it, with month-by-month history. - [Your area](https://api.ukgrid.info/your-area): carbon intensity for each of the distribution regions, and a lookup by the first part of a UK postcode. - [Map](https://api.ukgrid.info/map): every distribution region coloured by current carbon intensity, with live flows across the interconnectors. - [Weekly](https://api.ukgrid.info/weekly): a dated summary of each finished week, also available as an [RSS feed](https://api.ukgrid.info/weekly/feed.xml). - [Grid health](https://api.ukgrid.info/grid-health): system frequency around 50 Hz as the measure of balance between generation and demand, plus temperature. ## Live figures - [Live snapshot](https://api.ukgrid.info/llms-full.txt): every current figure on the site as plain text, with times, refreshed about once a minute, plus answers to common questions. ## API - [GraphQL endpoint](https://api.ukgrid.info/graphql): the same figures as JSON. Queries include currentActualGeneration, generationTrend, demand, interconnectors, prices, carbonIntensity, regions, region(postcode), systemFrequency, temperature, renewableCurtailment(period), curtailmentTrend(months), windPerformance, agileTariff(region) and weeklySummaries(limit). Introspection is enabled, so the schema can be read from the endpoint. ## Sources - [Elexon BMRS](https://bmrs.elexon.co.uk): generation, demand, interconnector, price, frequency and temperature data.
